Konnichi-Wa from Kyoto! Mr WF and I have been planning our trip for almost 3 months! Ever since our last trip to Tokyo, we fell in love with Japan and have been eager to return! I couldn't believe it when i started counting and realizing it's the fourth time I've step foot in this amazing city which I have fallen love with. Kyoto's centuries-old temples and shrines, paired with traditional Japanese Kaiseiki cuisine, makes it one of the most unique Japanese provinces . Hōkanji TempleWe first ventured out to Hokanji temple, situated between Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Yasaka-jinja Shrine in the Higashiyama District. Visitors are allowed inside the building for a small nominal fee (400 yen). However, even before stepping inside, the outside architecture combined with the family owned stores on both sides of the stone-paved street captured my heart. I arrived early in the morning in hopes to catch the sunrise (which I did) and I observed many locals (children and adults) who will stop at least for a few minutes upon arriving near the temple to stop for a moment, reflect and take photos on the phone. This speaks for itself how both locals and visitors appreciate and pay tribute to Hokanji temple. Before visiting, I have done hours of research and asked some of my girlfriends about what time I should be visiting to avoid crowds. I was told to arrive as early as 6 am or else you will be lost in the crowd! However, due to laziness and a bit of jet-lag, We arrived around 8:30 am for an hour or so! We were very lucky to have the whole place to ourselves! It was still pretty empty when we leave! so In general, if you wish to avoid crowds, I suggest visiting early and come on weekdays! As most of you might have known already, I love trying new headphones! Just before my trip to Kyoto, JLab sent me Three True Wireless JLab Earbuds! I was beyond excited to try them on! These beautiful headphones let you listen to your favorite tracks without dealing with wires! Perhaps the most amazing about the Jlab earbuds is their price! They are very affordable and with each piece costing under $100. I found that they were very good in quality as well as very comfortable to wear! For my trip to Kyoto, I have been wearing the JBuds AirExecutive, it is best for travel and business. with 30 hours of playtime, I could listen to music the entire day without having to worry!
